The Thaw

Under the frost the earth seems bare,
Whilst warmth stirs life in frozen air.
When we look close, a new world we see.
The colours of midwinter majesty.
Mossy green and rusted hues,
Cinnamon orange peeks through the blues.
Purple shadows stretch and sway,
Gold spills where the sunbeams ray.
The frost gives way to colours bright,
Hidden beauty in plain sight.
